Article: Housing groups struggle against foreclosure wave

Despite an uptick in the number of averted foreclosures in recent years, Minnesota affordable housing agencies and advocacy groups are not keeping up with the problem, according to a report Monday from the McKnight Foundation.

The report, “2010 Minnesota Housing Baseline Measures,” also found the number of affordable housing units in the state continued to grow last year, but only because of an added emphasis on cheaper rehabilitation projects involving existing properties rather than new construction...
