Honrando a nuestros portadores de la cultura<\/em><\/h2>\n

Ra\u00edces Ind\u00edgenas<\/a> y la Fundaci\u00f3n McKnight est\u00e1n encantados de anunciar a los ganadores de la primera Beca de Artista McKnight para Portadores de Cultura. El Beca de portadores de cultura McKnight<\/a> apoya a cuatro Portadores de la Cultura que practican estilos de vida sagrados y curativos y comparten pr\u00e1cticas art\u00edsticas culturales entre generaciones.<\/p>\n

Los becarios reciben reconocimiento p\u00fablico y un premio sin restricciones de $25.000 en apoyo a su pr\u00e1ctica cultural. Adem\u00e1s, los becarios reciben acceso a las instalaciones, recursos y organizaciones asociadas de Indigenous Roots.<\/p>\n

Los Portadores de la Cultura son fundamentales para la preservaci\u00f3n y continuidad del conocimiento ancestral y cultural. La pr\u00e1ctica de ser un Portador de Cultura se distingue de otras pr\u00e1cticas art\u00edsticas individuales porque la pr\u00e1ctica es una tradici\u00f3n de vida completa (no una carrera) e incluye la transmisi\u00f3n intergeneracional de aprendizaje. El papel del portador de cultura es particularmente importante dentro de las culturas ancestrales que atraviesan una transici\u00f3n o experimentan amenazas de culturas externas o dominantes.<\/p>\n

Amoke Kubat<\/strong> Sigue teniendo curiosidad sobre s\u00ed misma (como mujer afroamericana mayor), el mundo natural y lo Sagrado. Ella est\u00e1 reclamando una sensibilidad espiritual ind\u00edgena africana para reconectar a los negros con el mundo natural, como pr\u00e1ctica para el bienestar integral. Jim Simas<\/strong>, cuyo nombre anishinabe es \u201cBezhigogabow\u201d, de la Naci\u00f3n Seneca, Clan Heron.
