Robyn Browning joined McKnight in July 2020 as an Arts & Culture program and grants associate with the Grants & Program Operations department. In this role, Robyn supports all aspects of the grantmaking process for Arts & Culture grantee partners. During her tenure, Robyn has led the Arts & Culture team in streamlining processes for grantee partners, with a goal of improving the grantmaking process while focusing on equity.

Robyn has dedicated her career to advancing social justice for communities. Prior to McKnight, she was the grants manager at Mary’s Pence, where she focused on building relationships with grassroots feminist organizations deeply engaged in social justice work across the United States. She has been working at nonprofits in the Twin Cities area for more than 15 years in public health, advocacy, disability services, and social services. She started her career as an AmeriCorps member serving on the Texas-Mexico border to help improve living conditions for residents in unincorporated settlements.

Robyn has a master’s in public health from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s in economics from Tulane University. She prioritizes spending time with her partner and two senior rescue dogs, and enjoys learning new art forms and attending art events in the Twin Cities. She is passionate about thrifting, accessorizing, and drinking iced coffee.
