A candidate for a McKnight Neurobiology of Brain Disorders Award must work as an independent investigator at a not-for-profit research institution in the United States, must have held a tenured or tenure-track faculty position for at least three years at the time of application (no later than September 2023), and must wait at least one year before reapplying after two unsuccessful consecutive applications.

The application process is completely online, and the portal will open for submission by early August 2026.
Within our portal you will need to provide the following information:

- 예산. Please include a budget of $100,000 for each year of the award, i.e. July 1, 2027 – June 30, 2028; July 1, 2028 – June 30, 2029; and July 1, 2029 – June 30, 2030. Indicate any major categories (salaries, benefits, supplies, travel, tuition, etc) including indirect costs of up to 10 percent of the total award, meaning indirect costs should not exceed $30,000 over the entire award term for all recipients including any subrecipients. 선택 과정
에이 심사위원회 will evaluate the proposals and later invite the top 8-10 applications to interview with the review committee, likely in April 2027.

The Endowment Fund will fund up to four awards, each providing $100,000 per year for three years. Awards will be announced in May 2027 and begin in July 2027.
