McKnight Foundation has moved to a new grant application and reporting portal. Our current software vendor, Blackbaud, has made system upgrades for a cleaner, more modern look and feel for our applications. The updates make it simpler for our grantees to navigate and submit grant applications and reports.

What You Need to Know

• You will need to create a new account to access the new grantee portal. If you currently use Blackbaud software products or receive funding from other funders using Blackbaud Grantmaking, you’ll be able to log in with an existing Blackbaud ID. • Open application links on our website now direct you to the new portal.
  • Arts & Culture program application
  • Midwest Climate & Energy program application
  • Vibrant & Equitable Communities program application
• If you receive an invitation to submit a grant application, you will be directed to the new portal. 
• Emails from the new portal will come from this email address: noreply@yourcause.com. Please add this to your safe senders list or check junk and spam folders to avoid missing any emails. 
• Access to our current portal will go away on August 31, 2025. If you have started an application or have a report due before August 31, 2025, in the current portal and have not yet submitted it, we strongly encourage you to submit those applications or reports as soon as you’re able to avoid losing your progress.  
• If you need or want a copy of any applications or reports previously submitted in the current portal, please log in and download a copy of those for your records before portal access goes away on August 31. • If you have a report due after August 31, 2025, we will provide access to that report in the new grantee portal. We are still working on transitioning reporting requirements to the new portal. We plan to have this work completed by mid-August. We’ll reach out prior to your report due date with instructions for how to access those reports.
