Our Offices
Since 2003, The McKnight Foundation has been located in the Washburn A Mill building, on the western bank of the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis. Surrounded by the former mill's ruins, McKnight's offices are located directly above the Mill City Museum.

Our building's entrance is on South Second Street, between Park and Chicago Avenues South. Enter through the door directly under the large "Mill City Museum" sign and take the elevator to the fourth floor.
McKnight's offices are easily accessible via public transit. For Twin Cities bus and train routes and schedules, visit MetroTransit.org. From the Metrodome lightrail stop, head northwest on Fifth Street (away from the Metrodome). Turn right onto Park Avenue. Walk four blocks, crossing Washington Avenue, and turn right on South Second Street.
Parking is available at the Mill Quarter ramp ($2 to $6), and the surface parking lot ($5 to $6) on South Second Street across from our building. Fees increase during Metrodome and Guthrie events. The ramp accepts cash, Visa, and Mastercard; the lot accepts cash only. There is metered parking ($1/hour; 2 hour maximum) on surrounding streets.

Driving directions from: North. South on 35-W to Washington Avenue exit, then turn right; turn right again at 11th Avenue; turn left at 2nd Street South. Building is two blocks ahead on the right.
South. North on 35-W to U of M exit, follow sign for West Bank; turn left at Washington Avenue; turn right at 11th Avenue; turn left at 2nd Street South. Building is two blocks ahead on the right.
East. West on I-94 from St. Paul, to Cedar Avenue. Take Cedar north to Seven Corners and bear left onto Washington Avenue; turn right at 11th Avenue; turn left at 2nd Street South. Building is two blocks ahead on the right.
West. East on 394 to 4th Street exit. Turn left at Hennepin Avenue; turn right at 1st Street South; cross Marquette and 2nd Avenue South; turn right on 3rd Avenue South; turn left on 2nd Street South. Building is two blocks ahead on the left.
