Youth in the Media
Negative, fear-based coverage of youth in the media misinforms the public and can lead to short-sighted public policies that harm young people and, ultimately, all of society. What we need is balanced news coverage of youth issues, and inclusion of youth voices in the media.
Issue Overview sets the stage with a general survey of the topic; Framing the Issue looks a little closer and explores relevant research; and Resource Links are provided for access to the studies and organizations behind our findings, as well as detailed information beyond the scope of this report.
