Our Offices

Since 2003, The McKnight Foundation has been located in the Washburn A Mill building, on the western bank of the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis. Surrounded by the former mill's ruins, McKnight's offices are located directly above the Mill City Museum.

The Foundation's address is:

710 South Second Street, Suite 400
    Minneapolis, MN 55401
    Tel: 612-333-4220

Our building's entrance is on South Second Street, between Park and Chicago Avenues South. Enter through the door directly under the large "Mill City Museum" sign and take the elevator to the fourth floor.

McKnight's offices are easily accessible via public transit. For Twin Cities bus and train routes and schedules, visit MetroTransit.org. From the Vikings stadium lightrail stop, head northwest on Fifth Street (away from the stadium). Turn right onto Park Avenue. Walk four blocks, crossing Washington Avenue, and turn right on South Second Street.

Parking is available at parking ramps on South Second Street across from our building. Fees increase during some downtown events. The ramps accepts cash, Visa, and Mastercard. There is also metered parking on surrounding streets.

More information about the history and preservation of the Mill Ruins is available through the Minnesota Historical Society.
