Tim Murphy serves in a hybrid role as a program officer with the Program Integration team and the Vibrant & Equitable Communities team. In this role, he extends the capacity of McKnight’s program teams, enhancing strategic alignment and organizational effectiveness toward advancing programmatic goals and the Foundation’s mission. He is passionate about centering equity in all operations of the Foundation, and brings a continuous improvement mindset to the work.
Murphy joined the Foundation as the administrator for the Climate & Energy program in 2016.
After that, he served on the Grants & Program Operations team before becoming a program officer with the Vibrant & Equitable Communities team. He holds two degrees from the University of Minnesota: a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, policy, and management and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management.
Murphy lives in south Minneapolis with his dog Ole, and is a volunteer board member of Mile in My Shoes, a social action organization that uses the power of running to change perceptions and change lives.
